The problem is it ended in the worst way possible where we only have two new Metal Slug games to look forward to and both I have my skepticism for. I feel sad, not because of the game itself because we already knew how flawed it was, but if I said I want the game to continue on in the same direction, I'd be lying, because I think there needs to be a time where the game needs to end for good.
